# Mint pricing

Mint price is a function of the network's **currently-alive License NFT supply**, not the cumulative historical mints.

## How Pricing Tiers Work

As more permits are alive, the price to mint a new one rises in tiers. As permits expire and active supply contracts, the tier returns to a lower price.

| Tier | Alive License NFTs | Mint Price |
| ------- | ------------------ | ------------ |
| Tier 1  | 1 – 1,000          | 100 $SIGHT   |
| Tier 2  | 1,001 – 2,000      | 180 $SIGHT   |
| Tier 3  | 2,001 – 3,000      | 240 $SIGHT   |
| Tier 4  | 3001-4000          | 280 $SIGHT   |
| Tier 5  | 4001-5000          | 400 $SIGHT   |
| Tier 6  | 5001-6000          | 560 $SIGHT   |
| Tier 7  | 6001-7000          | 760 $SIGHT   |
| Tier 8  | 7001-8000          | 1,000 $SIGHT |
| Tier 9  | 8001-9000          | 1,250 $SIGHT |
| Tier 10 | 9001-10000         | 1,550 $SIGHT |

## Worked Example

> There are **1,002 alive License NFTs** — minting cost is the Tier 2 price, **180 $SIGHT**.
>
> Two License NFTs expire in the next hour, dropping alive supply to **1,000** — minting cost reverts to the Tier 1 price, **100 $SIGHT**.
>
> The market clears continuously.

## Beyond 10,000

Above 10,000 alive License NFTs, the Foundation may propose a [CIP](file:///0129295/governance/cips.md) to extend the schedule. The protocol does not silently inflate the cap.

{% hint style="warning" %}
All tier boundaries and prices are initial parameters, governable via CIP.
{% endhint %}
